Chemical Waste
Chemsal provides a collection and disposal/recycling service for a wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous chemical waste types. These include; flammables, corrosives, toxic chemicals, oxidisers and reactives. General descriptions include industrial chemical raw materials (see also surplus chemicals listing on this web site), obsolete finished product, defective product, by-products, residue containers, contaminated rags and wipes. Specifically accepted products are paints, thinners, solvents, aerosols, inks, oils, greases, oil filters, coolant liquids, acids, cleaning compounds, photographic, batteries, fluorescent tubes, HID lamps, mercury, heavy metals, PCBs, pesticides, asbestos, biocides. Packaging is recovered where possible for recycling.
Effluent (Victoria Only)
Specific examples are wash waters, grease trap, oily waters, interceptor traps, neutralise pits, car wash, contaminated water and plating wastes. Water contaminants accepted for treatment are silt, oil, hydrocarbons, solvents, acids, alkalis, heavy metals, pesticides and cyanide. Chemsal operates a fleet of vacuum trucks to collect waste for treatment at Laverton North in Victoria.
Packaging
Chemsal offers a specialist service for resource recovery. Steel drums, tins, equipment - decontamination and shredding, plastic drums, pails, stretchwrap, pallets, cores, trays, rollers, reels caps and other packaging items.
